The client had a need to be able to track the spare board off cuts created in their business. Generally these boards were rectangular in shape and of a size that allowed them to be used in other jobs.
The number of off cuts being generated indicated that a simple system of adding, indexing and removing items was sufficient for the task. The type, colour, dimension and storage location were held in the system and reports on stock and historic usage were created to help manage the process.
